The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're anticipating happens now.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
